Julie Steel, funeral arranger at Fosters Cumnock is one of six friends raising funds for charity by climbing Ben Nevis on the 10th of July.
The team aim to raise funds for local bereavement support charity ‘Beautiful Inside and Out’.
Beautiful Inside and Out is a charity that was set up by the family of Jenna Moriarty, who tragically took her own life aged just 13. The charity supports bereaved parents of suicide victims, and siblings of suicide victims through counselling or help with funding for play therapy.
They also run fun, yet poignant sessions with a music and drama group, working in schools and with other groups to promote positive feelings of self-worth in young people.
Julie explains “I work with bereaved families through my role as at Fosters and I regularly recommend Beautiful Inside and Out to families because they offer such amazing support. I know they rely on fundraising to continue their work and wanted to do something to help. So, my friends and I decided we’d get our hiking boots on and take on a fresh challenge to climb Ben Nevis.”
“I’ve done a couple of munros before, but climbing Ben Nevis is well out of my comfort zone. Along with my friends Jackie, Karen, Claire, Ashley and Shannon we hope to reach our target to help this charity continue it’s vital work in the surrounding community.” You can support Julie and her Ben Nevis teammates via a donation to Just Giving via the link below.
