This Easter Fosters teamed up with five different Women’s Aid centres across Scotland to provide 500 Easter eggs for the children and young people within their care.
The chocolate treats will be distributed by Women’s Aid centres in Monklands, Renfrewshire, East Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire.
Geri McGuire (pictured left) Senior Children and Young Persons Worker at Monklands Women’s Aid said “We are totally blown away by the generosity from Fosters Funeral Directors and choosing to support our organisation. Covid 19 has affected us all but it has further exacerbated the impact of domestic abuse on those we serve. I look forward to delivering the eggs to the children and young people and seeing the delight on their faces.”
Sarah Reilly (pictured right), funeral arranger at Fosters Hamilton said “Women’s Aid provide an invaluable service and do a brilliant job helping vulnerable women and children in our local community. We hope that our donation of chocolate eggs and sweet treats helps to make this Easter holiday a little more enjoyable for all of those supported by Women’s Aid.”
Scottish Women’s Aid provide a confidential service that offers vital information, support and temporary accommodation to women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse. Sadly this is an issue which has been on the rise due to the recent lockdown restrictions. The charity campaigns to raise awareness of this issue, as well as support all other domestic violence services.
