Fosters funeral arranger Fiona Shaw will be lacing up her walking boots to tackle a 44-mile challenge walking from Rutherglen to Edinburgh to raise funds for Glasgow charity Revive MS.

On the 4th of September Fiona will commence her journey from Fosters Funeral Directors in Rutherglen and walk the 44-mile route in one go, aiming to arrive at Waverley Station in Edinburgh 16 hours later.

Fiona says “This is the first time I’ve ever taken on a challenge like this, but I’m determined to succeed as I want to raise as much money as possible for Revive MS. The charity is close to my heart as my Mum Sheila (pictured with Fiona below) is part of the physiotherapy team there and I know the work they do is invaluable to many individuals and families.”

Cara Thom, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Revive MS said “We were thrilled to hear that Fiona is taking on this challenge to help raise funds and awareness of the work we do across Glasgow and the West of Scotland. Every penny raised goes towards improving the quality of life for people living with Multiple Sclerosis. We hope that the people will give generously, and I’d encourage people to visit our website to learn more about the complimentary services our charity provides.”

Fiona continues: “I have set up a Just Giving Page and aim to raise £500. I’ve had great support from my colleagues at Fosters and hope the local community will be cheering me on and if they can spare a pound or two that would be greatly appreciated.” If you’d like to sponsor Fiona and help her to reach her target please visit her Just Giving Fundraising page.

Joining Fiona on the challenge for moral support is her friend Eddy Reilly who is helping with the training schedule and route map.
