A direct cremation — also known as an unattended cremation — is a simple, dignified option in which the deceased is cremated without a formal service or any people in attendance. It’s often chosen by those who prefer a minimalist approach or wish to keep costs low whilst ensuring respectful care.

Our Direct Cremation is our lowest cost funeral yet still affords the highest level of dignity and care for those who have passed away. It includes the fee for unattended cremation in a Simple coffin.

The services below are for those needing to arrange a funeral now or in the near future.

  • Scattering of ashes in the garden of remembrance or collection from a Fosters parlour

  • Fee for an unattended cremation (at a date and location of our choosing)

Please note that there is an opportunity to visit the chapel of rest, please ask about our Farewell Cremation.

For collections out-with 20 miles of the nearest Fosters funeral home there will be a surcharge of £2.20 per mile.
