We were interested to see this article in The Daily Telegraph highlighting that fact that some funeral companies are outrageously only offering office hour collections with their direct funeral plans, which means that depending on when they passed away, the deceased could be left at home over the weekend!

We find this absolutely outrageous and would never leave our customers in that terrible position. That is why we operate a 24hr careline (0800 121 8090), not only for immediate support and guidance but, to arrange the collection of their loved one to bring them into our care as soon as possible.

We understand the distress and grief that families go through so we never compromise on the quality of service we provide and are pleased to confirm to our existing plan holders that all our funeral plans, including our direct plan, offer collection out of normal working hours when necessary.

As always we welcome calls for industry regulation so that customers are protected from unscrupulous funeral providers who hide away costs or cut back on essential services that affect the quality of care, or don’t guarantee that the costs of the funeral will be met at the time of need.

Remember, not all funeral plans are the same, so we urge everyone to ask these questions of their plan provider and make sure their loved ones won’t get any unintended surprises.
